- I hate to sound cranky, but *what sort* of 'killer Amiga' - a
- set top *or* a personal computer? The day may come when those are
- one and the same thing, but we have *not* yet arrived at that point yet.
- The people around here want some sort of reassurances that you are
- going to build a 'killer Amiga' PC (PPC, RTG, etc.)
- As far as everybody there being Amiga people - I'm only
- slightly reassured at that. I know far too much about the
- corporate world to let that make me think that it means you
- guys are in control of the direction the project takes. Corporation
- are suppose to make profit for the stockholders, and the top
- management are directly responsible to those stockholders; if they
- don't perform up to expectations, they get the 'bye-bye!'.
- At C=, engineers had all sorts of great ideas that would have
- been good for the Amy in the long run, but very few of these were
- implemented. Why? Management. They thought that profit for the
- company would come from cheap, low-end, price/performance machines.
- They manufactured and did R&D accordingly.
- Where does VisiCorp see their profit coming from? Kick-ass
- computers, or Kick-ass set-tops? There is still a big difference!
- Many of us are not at all interested in a souped up CD-I type thingy.
- All the statements form VisiCorp so far have been pretty vague about
- what sort of Amiga they had in mind for the future.
- How about telling us!?
